macOS 14+
Privacy

Your data never leaves your Mac.

Here’s exactly what re:Work reads, keeps, and sends.

01Recorded

  • The app in front, its window title, and the open document.
  • The web address of your current tab.
  • When you start, stop, and step away.
  • How many keys you pressed. Never which keys.
  • Whether you copied something. Never what you copied.
  • Whether the app in front is playing media. Never the media itself.
  • Links, ticket numbers, and repo names in the window in front. Nothing else.
  • If you connect your calendar: events and how many people attend. Never event notes.

02Never recorded

  • Screenshots or screen recordings.
  • Your microphone or any audio.
  • What you type.
  • What you copy.
  • What’s inside your pages and documents.

03Left out

Apps you exclude. Add an app in Settings → Privacy and re:Work stops recording it.

Private windows. Private windows in Chrome, Firefox and Safari record only the app and how long you used it. Other browsers don’t say when a window is private, so exclude them if you browse privately there.

04Stored on your Mac

  • Everything is stored on your Mac. No account, no cloud sync.
  • Web addresses are saved without query strings or login details.
  • Terminal commands are never saved, only which project you were in.
  • The app’s own logs never include titles, addresses, or names.
  • Keep history forever, or for 30, 90, or 365 days. Delete it all anytime in Settings → Data.

To encrypt your data, turn on FileVault.

05Sent over the network

Nothing about your activity. No app names, titles, addresses, or work hours.

re:Work makes a few requests of its own. See each one in Settings → Privacy, and turn them all off with one switch.
